The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ESBC will be held at the Pacific Forestry Centre in Victoria, BC on Friday, October 14th and the Symposium on the morning of Saturday, October 15th, 2016.
The Entomological Society of British Columbia’s Annual General Meeting Symposium this year is "Urban Insects: They Live Among Us”.
As our society has shifted towards greater urbanization our relationship with insects has similarly changed. People are increasingly concerned with subjects such as eradicating bedbugs, planting butterfly gardens, monitoring endangered bumblebees, or tracking invasive species. This symposium highlights the roles that entomologists play in studying the diversity, ecology, conservation, and management of insects in urban environments.
There are several possibilities, at varying distances from the Pacific Forestry Center:
- Ramada (Gorge Rd)
- Paul's Motor Inn
- Day's Inn (Inner Harbour)
- Swan's Hotel
- Hotel ZED (complimentary bike loan, will get you to the Pacific Forestry Centre in about 10 minutes)
