Meeting Date and Location
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ESBC will be held at the Pacific Forestry Centre in Victoria, BC (506 W. Burnside Road) on Friday, October 14th with contributed papers and business meeting to follow. The Symposium will take place at the Pacific Forestry Centre on the morning of Saturday, October 15th, 2016.
This year's symposium theme is "Urban Insects: They Live Among Us”.
As our society has shifted towards greater urbanization our relationship with insects has similarly changed. People are increasingly concerned with subjects such as eradicating bedbugs, planting butterfly gardens, monitoring endangered bumblebees, or tracking invasive species. This symposium highlights the roles that entomologists play in studying the diversity, ecology, conservation, and management of insects in urban environments.
